The leadership class will strive to meet this mission through hard work, planning, participation, and the involvement of as many students as possible in school activities.

School Nickname and Colors - During the spring of 2005 several individuals sat down and debated the future of the Whitney High School. When all was said and done the founding teachers and administration decided that the mascot would be the wildcat and the school colors would be Maroon and Vegas Gold. The official school logo is a wildcat with the shield in the background. This logo is found on all student body clothing and in the middle of the football field. Whitney High School is proud to exhibit "Wildcat Pride" in its activities, athletics, and academics. Go Cats!

Traditions - Early in its existence, the students of Whitney High School set out to establish traditions that were unique. In the past four years these traditions have grown to include an intense powder-puff game during homecoming week, a night rally, fight song Fridays (FSF) in the amphitheater, extravagant rally sets, a battle of the sexes rally, and lunch activities during specific times of the year.

X-Factor - In all sporting events the crowd can often times help cheer on the home team to victory. This crowd cannot be accounted for by the visitor but is a factor in the outcome of the game. In algebra, the letter "x" identifies an unknown variable. When these two things are combined, you arrive at the root of the Whitney High School X-Factor. A student group that attends home sporting events to cheer on the Wildcats. A student group that the opponent cannot account for, the unknown variable, THE X-FACTOR.

Fight Song - Whitney High School is very proud of its fight song and sings it at sporting events, during lunch activities, and at many random times. The fight song was written by band director Kris Harper and is available in the downloads portion of the ASB homepage. The most attractive part of the fight song is at the end...
